Built Ins FAQ
We’ve had our living room built-ins for about a month now, and I am ABSOLUTELY IN LOVE. The space feels so clean and organized, and now that every toy has a home, it’s helped my kids learn to clean up after themselves. I’ve had a few questions on the cabinets, so I figured I would put a quick post up to address some of them.
Cost of the cabinet Install?
Cabinet Cost:$2,739.55
Shipping:$387.75
Total $3,471.31
Installation cost: We had someone install for us, but if you are handy, it is probably something you can do yourself. I wanted it to be done right and on time so I hired a friend, which cost us an extra $450.00
Did you get a discount?
The short answer to this is yes and no. Nothing is free in this world ha. As a content creator I occasionally will work with companies on an exchange basis. Which means in exchange for the product, I have to do a certain amount of posts/ stories etc ( which I consider work).
What made you decide on KITCH vs other companies?
My first concern with a project like this was product availability and shipping delays. I wanted to go through a local company, because I felt we would have better luck that way. However, the local companies we looked at were out of our price range. This isn’t a forever home, so I didn’t want to invest $10K into a space that we wouldn’t get to enjoy forever. .
I still wanted something I loved, and something the next owners could appreciate. We have no plans to move anytime soon but as with all projects, I am always thinking about what prospective buyers would be looking for in a home.
We decided on KICTH because I LOVED the projects that I had seen done with their product. Check out their instagram, and you will see exactly what I mean.
Additionally, I actually spoke to someone in Saskatoon who had gone through them and told me how happy they were with the product, how quickly everything came, and how easy it was to get ahold of the customer service.
What colours did you go with ?
We went with a slab profile for the cabinets in cotton mist
For the Floating Shelves in ivory oak
We are so happy we went with KITCH, and I have no doubt they are who we would use in a future home. If you want full detail on the built in process check out my Instagram or blog post on the whole process .
Please feel free to ask any more questions in the comments below, and I will get to them ASAP.
