Our kids have always loved using their imaginations and pushing the boundaries on their creativity! My daughter can spend hours crafting, sculpting, drawing etc. It’s taken some time to accept the “mess” that comes with all the creating, but I would take the mess any day when I see her face beam with pride after her latest creation.
As a parent, I think the one thing we all worry about, is our child’s development. We all want the best for our kids and allowing our children to role play and use their imagination through creative play is a great way for them to work on those developmental skills. Play-Doh ticks off so many boxes for us in terms of development skills. It helps kids work on fine motor skills, hand strength, concentration span and so much more.
When Play-Doh approached me to try out the Play-Doh Kitchen Creations Ultimate Ice Cream Truck, I was thrilled and knew it would be a hit in our house! It’s supersized, standing about 3 feet tall and comes with 27 tools for your little ones to create all the pretend treats they can imagine. Here is a list of what it comes with.

The kids love using the soft serve machine to create all their pretend ice cream flavours. The lever is easy to use, and it has two slots to create any swirls. After the kids create their cone, they can then add in the Play-Doh sprinkle colours of their choosing!
If you aren’t up for a pretend soft serve, the kids made us some pretend ice cream in bowls and added some unique molds, perfect for developing fine motor skills- a necessary step in helping kids to write when they are in school.
One of our favourite features is the cash register. The kids loved pretending to run their own business and collecting money for their creations. One fun option is using this an opportunity to practice and teach some early math skills! It also has been so cool to see this toy bring out the little entrepreneurs in our kids. From setting up the shop in the morning, to taking and fulfilling orders, processing payment and cleaning up, our kids love running their little ice cream shop and are learning so many important pieces of running a business.
Ok, now time for my honest final review. I know as parents, we all want toys that our kids will use more than once before they become dust collectors. This toy fits that bill. Our kids ask to play with this frequently and every time they use it, they find new and creative ways to use it.
