There are so many reasons I love Toronto. It’s vibrant and full of culture, and life. You would think after a few visits, it wouldn’t be as exciting, but it is! The city has so much to offer, and each trip feels entirely new. Whether it’s your first time to the Six, or you are a frequent visitor, the one thing I always recommend is finding downtown accommodations.
Getting from place to place within toronto can be difficult. And if you aren’t familiar with their public transportation, or TTC you definitely want to find a location that allows easy access to the entertainments district (spoiler alert this hotel does exactly that). On my last visit to Toronto , we stayed at the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel which is part of the Marriott hotel collection . Here is an inside look at the Sheraton Toronto centre
The Hotel
The Sheraton is centrally located in the heart of downtown, and directly connected to the PATH which is the network of underground pedestrian tunnels that gives access to shops, restaurants and more. The Eaton centre, which has over 200 retailers, is a small 5 min walk away from their hotel. For the sport fans, the The Scotiabank Arena, Rogers Centre and BMO fields are all within walking distance. Whether its that concert you are there to see or an event to attend I can guarantee you its downtown, and within walking distance from the Sheraton
The Rooms
Having a clean, comfortable room to wake up in after a busy night is near the top of my MUST HAVES. With over 1372 guest rooms, you are sure to find exactly what you are looking for. During my two night stay we opted for the 2 queen room and upgraded to club level which gave us so many great perks like the club lounge access ( I’ll get into that later)
The room was spacious, with a large enough bathroom for both of us to get ready. Our room overlooked the Nathan Phillips Square– where you find the Iconic Toronto sign. The night skyline was unbelievable, a total instrgramers dream. Funny enough I was so busy enjoying the views that I actually forgot to capture images on how gorgeous the views were
Amenities
The hotel offers many amenities from their fitness centre, meeting rooms, and rooftop pool. I have to admit the amenity I was looking most forward to was their rooftop pool. Can we all agree, roof top pools just hit different? And this one is no exception. Although it’s an outdoor pool, it doubles as an indoor pool in the winter. The pool offers poolside dinning, and no shortage of seating areas. Although I didn’t get to take full advantage of the pool dining – that is an option that I will fully take advantage of next time I am there.
Where to Eat
One unique feature of the hotel is that it offers options for all day dinning- essentially you could have all your meals at the hotel. Additionally all the items on the menu are created and inspired by the global traveller. We had all our breakfasts in the Club lounge which was a perk of upgrading to club lounge access. But if you don’t do the upgrade and are looking for some eats, I suggest Dual Citizen for a fresh coffee and pastry and the local greens salad for lunch. Head over to 43 Down inn the evening for a cocktail inspired by the local neighbourhood.
Club Lounge
Okay I cannot end this blog without sharing the club lounge.
Remember when I said our hotel room views were breathtaking.. Well, The Sheraton Club lounge offers stunning 360 views of the city skyline that alone is worth those extra dollars to upgrade. The perks of upgrading include complimentary breakfast, snacks and hors d’oeuvres. This was definitely my favourite part of the stay.
This post has been about where to stay in toronto. Hope this was helpful in helping you make a decision on your next stay.
**My stay with the Sheraton Toronto Centre was complimentary. However all opinions are my own.
